Asbestos Abatement Corp was retained by Ashland Chemical to remove a 35,000 square foot built-up roof assembly above active production areas at their Boonton, NJ facility. Scope covered demolition and disposal of the asphalt-and-gravel roof, insulation and flashings.
Given the sensitivity of the operations below, our crews implemented a phased schedule, edge protection, and dust and debris controls that allowed production to continue without interruption. All materials were manifested and disposed of at a licensed facility in accordance with NJDEP requirements.
The project was completed on schedule in 2023 with zero recordable incidents and the deck turned over clean for the follow-on roofer.
